The Ancient Ore Armor is a unique set of high-quality armour, possessing magical properties of the Ore used in its production.
Origins
Crafted entirely from magic ore, this runic armour was once a valued possesion of a brave general who fought against the orcs in many battles long before the barrier was estabilished. However, as great as the armour was, it did not save the general from meeting his inevitable demise.
The armour offered ample protection against all kinds of damage, but was not without it's drawbacks, owing to the time it was kept in a dark and corrosive environment of Xardas' flooded tower.
It was essentially a suit of heavy leather combined with highly durable steel chainmail, which served as a base to which magic ore plates were affixed with straps. As such, it is not a plate armour, but rather a hybrid between a scale and chainmail armours.
Years of storage in Xardas' sunken tower have affected the armour's state, but Stone, the blacksmith of the Old Camp guard, was able to renovate the armour, increasing its armour rating by five points for each damage type.
The armour possesed a magical aura, that would keep it's wearer alive, and indeed, it was this trait that allowed the nameless hero to survive being squished by a few tons of rock when the Sleeper's temple collapsed.
Unfortunately, as Xardas summoned the hero back to his tower, the Ore Armour that kept him alive was destroyed in the process.
